The Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing is an assessment used in the LOCHI study to assess some of the skills involved in phonological processing, such as phonological awareness and auditory memory. Phonological processing is a skill related to the development of language and reading and it allows us to identify your child’s strengths and weaknesses in this area. Only one subtest of the CTOPP is administered to LOCHI participants at 5 years of age. This takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. For LOCHI participants who are 9 years and above, three subtests are administered. This takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
